"Here in the City of Cavite was Born on 28 January, 1861 Julian Felipe<br><br>Patriot, composer and professor of music. Son of Justo Felipe and Victoria Reyes. Arrested with the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite and imprisoned in Fort San Felipe, Septermber, 1896. Composed the “Philippine National Anthem,” 1898. Imprisoned in Fort Santiago by the Americans, 1899. Taught piano lessons, 1903–1942. Died in Sampaloc, Manila, 2 October, 1944." (language: en)
